TCSS Staff Picks for Christmas 2023

Not sure where to start with your holiday shopping list?
We've got you covered with top picks from our crew!
Gear we can't live without!

Name: Liz
Position: Shop Manager
Loves to: Hike and surf
I have two seasons: trucker hat and beanie season. As a Great Laker, beanie season lasts a wee bit longer & only the absolute best beanie makes the cut. The Third Coast Pine Speck Beanie keeps me warm & cozy while out in those chilly Great Lake winds doing swell checks or throwing down miles on the trail. It is my go-to beanie from street to beach to trail while proudly repping the shop!!
Stocking Stuffer: Rad Badge Air Freshener
If I am not at the shop soaking up the sweet smell of surf wax, I'm in my car chasing waves or other adventures. The Rad Badge Air freshener gets the job done combatting the neoprene, Husky, and wet hiking gear stank in my trusty Outback plus that orange pops!!
Must-Have: Grand Trunk Double Hammock
Nothing beats the feeling of chilling in a hammock after a long day on the trail or in the water especially when you can snuggle up with your fave human or Husky! The lightweight, packable & durable hammock with tree straps system are always in my pack for some relaxation to the max after an epic day of adventuring.

Name: DeeDee
Position: Purchasing Manager
Loves to: Kiteboard and surf
Style Item: Gypsea Bands
I always have one of these on my wrist. A hair tie that looks like a cute bracelet. They fit right in with my other bracelets and when I need to put my hair up, I’m set! Plus, proceeds from every purchase go to Surfrider foundation. Win Win!
Stocking Stuffer: Vans Sk8 Hi MTE boots
These are a must have for our Michigan winters. They keep your feet warm and dry and they just look like a cool pair of high top VANS. They also have awesome grip for walking around on icy sidewalks. Cooler winter boots don’t exist!

Must-Have: Third Coast Paramore Rainbow Hoodie
This hoodie is uniquely made of super soft corduroy. I love it because it makes me think of cool summer Michigan nights.

Style ItemOG Standard Logo Crew
The OG Standard Crew is super buttery soft and, best of all, features TCSS's original logo from our 2005 beginning.
Stocking StufferSurf The Greats Poster
Our Surf the Great Lakes poster is Great Lakes surfing personified and looks so rad on my bedroom wall.

The True Ames Greenough 4-A is the single best surfing fin design ever and works really well on any single fin surfboard.

"Third Coast Second Street Crew is a classic soft sweatshirt perfect for those early-morning dawn patrols."
Stocking Stuffer: TCSS Sprout Mug
I love a good camp mug! Durable and ready to go anywhere.

Must-Have: Surf-Fur
So warm I can't take it off! Perfect for changing out of my wetsuit on those frigid days.

Name: Gianni

Position: Surf Instructor

Loves to: Surf & Skate

Style Item:
Comfiest thing to put on post-sesh and get warm.

Stocking Stuffer:
Straight up the only wax that doesn't freeze when it's below zero and firing.

Most comfortable suit I've ever worn. Super stretchy for those laybacks and no friction on the shoulders--you can paddle like you're in a 3/2.

Name: Brendan
Position: Deck Hand
Loves to: Surf, Snowboard, skate, get injured
Style Item: Vans SK8-Hi Gore-Tex MTE-3
When you wanna be steely, warm and dry, there's nothing better than the Gore tex Sk8-Hi's. I've rocked these the last 2 winters and they're bomb proof.
Gotta have a solid pair of goggles and having a low light option for our grey Michigan days is pretty clutch.

Must-Have: Xcel Drylock 6/5 Wetsuit
I didn't grow up lake surfing and being in this cold of water and air is definitely something I'm still getting used to, the Drylock 6/5 keeps me TOASTY!
